About Me
I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the multi-sector communication program at St. John’s University, where I am specializing in Political Communication. My research focuses on freedom of the press and news cultures in Latin America and the U.S. I’m currently working on my doctoral dissertation, which analyzes professionalism in Spanish and English media at the time of covering right-wing Latinos during the 2024 U.S. general election.
I earned my Master of Science degree in International Communication from St. John’s in 2023, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Journalism in 2022. Throughout my career, I have written for various news organizations, spanning different beats such as politics and immigration for The Latin Times, business for LinkedIn News, and entertainment and culture for Game Rant.
As a multi-faceted communication enthusiast, I have also worked for the Office of Media Relations at St. John's and Will Murphy’s Congressional Campaign, where I helped draft press releases and pitch news stories to local news media.
Originally from Venezuela, I can provide a fresh and international perspective to any role I am given. With a fervent passion for democratic ideas, values and development, my approach to journalism is one based on integrity, empathy and relentless pursuit of the truth.
